Event Description:
As part of our Cooke Connections: Northern California visit, we will host two major events: A Career Pathways Chat with Cooke Alums followed by a mix-and-mingle community-building event.
Depending on their educational and career interests, Scholars may also choose to attend a lab tour or company tour - please see below for details. Scholars: we ask that you please check your school schedules before registering to attend any of the following events; if you have class scheduled at the time of the event you are interested in, please make arrangements with your professor before registering.
Overview of the Events:
Panel Discussion (open to Alums and Scholars)
Date: Thursday, April 4, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Location: LKSC-130 in the Li Ka Shing Learning and Knowledge Center on Stanford’s campus
Career Pathways Chat: Jennifer Krasilovsky, our Dean of Career Services, will be moderating a panel discussion for Scholars from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Panelists will include Cooke Alums Carlos Biaou and Joan Kim.
Community-Building Session (open to Alums and Scholars)
Date: Thursday, April 4, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m.
Location: BMI 1021 in the Biomedical Innovations Building on Stanford’s campus
Networking and Dinner: Following the panel discussion, light dinner will be served and attendees will have the chance to mingle and network.
Lab and Company Tours (open to Scholars, but Alums will be considered as space allows)
Lab Tour with Cooke Alum Sonia Bustos Barocio on Stanford Campus
Date: Thursday, April 4, 9:00 - 9:30 a.m.
Location: Biomedical Innovations Building (BMI) - 240 Pasteur Dr., Palo Alto, CA
Cooke Alum Sonia Bustos Barocio is offering a tour of her Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology lab. She is investigating mechanisms underlying tissue regeneration and cancer induction using the Mexican Axolotl as a model organism.
Salesforce Tower company tour with Cooke Alum Annie Seo
Date: Friday, April 5, 11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Location: Salesforce Tower, 415 Mission St, San Francisco, CA
Cooke Alum Annie Seo is offering a tour of the Salesforce Tower followed by lunch in San Francisco. Please note that any Scholars who want to attend the Salesforce tour must have a Driver’s License or State ID.
Google company tour, panel discussion, and lunch with Cooke Alums Gregory Clark, Jason Joo, and more
